Egypt Football Association have until this evening to provide Fifa with guarantees assuring them about the security situation for next month’s World Cup playoff clash against Ghana.
This comes after Ghana contacted Fifa to request that next month’s World Cup play-off against Egypt in Cairo be moved to a neutral venue.
Egypt is scheduled to host Ghana 19 November in Cairo in the second leg of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana’s original demand for a venue switch, submitted on October 8, urged world football’s governing body to find “a safe and secure venue”.
The Black Stars are concerned about the volatile security situation in the Egyptian capital.
The Ghanaian Football Association (GFA) demanded FIFA move the second-leg outside Egypt due to the country’s ongoing security difficulties.
The first leg in Ghana finished with a 6-1 win for the Black Stars.
Earlier this month, the Ghanaian Football Association (GFA) demanded FIFA move the second-leg outside Egypt due to the country’s ongoing security difficulties.
FIFA gave Egypt until 28 October (today) to provide “comprehensive security assurances” for the match.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have already informed the world governing body FIFA that they are ready to host and secure Ghana when they arrive in Cairo to face the Pharaohs for the 2014 World Cup qualifier playoff.
Egypt’s dream of reaching the World Cup for the first time since 1990 is almost out of sight after the heavy defeat in Ghana.
The Egyptian team will be seeking a win in the second-leg to boost millions of Egyptians who were shocked by the resounding defeat and dismayed at losing their World Cup dream.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says he and his teammates in the Black Stars are afraid of traveling to Cairo to face Egypt in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in November because of security concerns.
Egypy has been in turmoil for over two years since the political upheaval and the ousting of Mohammed Morsi has started fresh violence with many people losing their lives.

GHANA ACE SPORTS JOURNALIST INSIST KELVIN IS FAKE

Ghanaian Ace sports Journalist Yaw Osafogyefo Anaman of Peace Fm and Universal sports has insisted Schalke O4 Ghanaian international Kelvin Prince Boateng is fake as the player has refused to attend to national call ups in recent times.
In an interview with a locally based radio station (HAPPY FM),the writer and editor of Universal Sports said the 26year old former Milan midfielder has only played for Ghana once ever since he played at the world cup in south Africa.Said in a local dilect and i translate "KP Boateng should stop all this antics.Ghana gave him the chance to play at the world cup when he definitly knew he was not not going to get a call up in the German national team.He was by then playing for Portmouth and even with that the team was about to go to relegation. He got the opportunity to play at the world cup and after got the chance to play for AC Milan. He then came out to announce he has resigned from the national team due to a knee problem. He had never played for Ghana ever since till recently when he came out to say he had decided to return to the national team on the verge of Ghana's qualification to the World Cup.He was however invited to play in the game against Zambia at the Kumasi Sports  Stadium but dropped down to Ghana without playing the game claiming he had pains in his knee and that the pitch was too hard. The same pitch other proffessionals like Muntari,Essien,Dede etc played on.Few days later he went back to Schalke and scored in the champion league. He was again invited for the game against Egypt, and prior to the that game we saw in Schalke's game angainst Ausburg that he had limped off.Which eventually saw him out of the Egypt game.He again came back to play against Chelsea in the champions league.I will like to draw our minds back a little bit. After KP announced his retirement from the national team, are you aware KP came back to play in Ghana's friendly against England at the Wembly of which the FA officials refused?
You can check KP's record from the German under 17 national team.He was the captain of the team and due to some attitutes of his he was stripped of his captaincy. This issue of "Monkey dey work,Barboo dey chop" should end.How can someone play all the qualifying games and be dropped at the World cup.I think what the young man is doing is really unfair. The likes of Atsu,Wakasu etc who has played through out the qualifiers and saw to Ghana's  qualification to the world cup are also capable of playing at the world cup.The FA and the coach should really take a second look at this issue, the journalist said"
Mr Yaw Osagyefo Anaman has been one of Ghana's primed sports journalist in recent times.

Kevin-Prince Boateng
Schalke key player Kevin-Prince Boateng has admitted that he poorly took the penalty that was saved by Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller in their German Bundesliga match on Saturday.
Boateng avoided speaking with Weidenfeller, who is his friend, after the match as he could not stand the shame of facing the goalkeeper to brag.
Weidenfeller put up a virtuoso performance by saving Boateng’s his penalty in Schalke’s 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
The save prevented Schalke from reviving themselves as Dortmund run away as winners in the highly-anticipated derby clash.
Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave Dortmund the lead but Schalke were handed the opportunity to equalise when Christian Fuchs was fouled by Neven Subotic in the penalty area.
However, Boateng saw his penalty saved by Weidenfeller, with Nuri Sahin and Jakub Blaszczykowski sealing the Ruhr derby spoils for Dortmund either side of Max Meyer’s strike for the hosts.
“The penalty is of course in my mind. I chose the wrong option. I really wanted to meet with Roman after the game, but I could not face seeing him,” said the 26-year-old.
“If the penalty would have been possible, the game could have been 100% different. Dortmund made the most of our mistakes.”
Weidenfeller, 33, has now saved four of the last eight penalties he has faced and believes Boateng perhaps felt the pressure of facing a former team-mate having played with the keeper during a loan spell with BVB back in
“It is always difficult for the shooter to compete against an ex- team-mate,” he added.
The result leaves Schalke in sixth place on 14 points and 11 points behind their fierce rivals, who trail leaders Bayern Munich by just a single point.

The centre-back, who recently made his first start for the Black Stars in their World Cup qualifier against Egypt, has been instrumental in the successes of Sundowns so far this season with impressive displays at the centre of defence.

‘Downs put on an exquisite display of attacking football as they brought AmaZulu’s unbeaten record away from home to an abrupt end.

Sthembiso Ngcobo found the back of the net for Usuthu from the spot.

EGYPT NOT SAFE.SAYS FA PRESIDENT KWASI NYANTAKYI

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi insists Egypt is unsafe to host next month’s Brazil 2014 World Cup playoff return leg.
The Black Stars are expected to travel to Cairo to face the Pharaohs on 19 November after a comprehensive 6-1 win in the corresponding fixture.
The Ghana FA wrote to FIFA requesting the match be moved to a neutral ground and the world’s football governing has set an 28 October deadline to take a decision.
Last Sunday, Egyptian police clashed with hundreds of students staging an anti-military protest at Cairo’s Al-Azhar University.
Reports say the students had blocked the main road leading to the campus and threw rocks as security forces also fired tear gas to disperse them.
“My strongest conviction is that the match should be moved away from Cairo because I think security is seriously compromised in Cairo and the situation keeps escalating day in day out,” Nyantakyi told an Accra-based Joy FM.
“We cannot risk the lives of our players, officials and supporters by going to Cairo, I do not think that anylife lost is replaceable and so in the interest of fairness and security it is better for FIFA to look outside Egypt for a venue for the match.”

Kevin-Prince Boateng will start of Schalke tonight
Ghana midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng has been named in Schalke’s starting line-up to face Chelsea on Tuesday night just seven days after missing the Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Egypt claiming he was injured, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.
The 26-year-old has been named as the lead striker for the German side as they take on the English club in the UEFA Champions League match.
Boateng’s availability for the match against Chelsea means he has recovered from the injury that kept him out of the match between Ghana and Egypt.
His return is likely to spark fresh doubts about his commitment to the Ghana cause even though he missed Schalke’s league match against Eintracht Braunschweig on Saturday.
This showed that he had not recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of the Black Stars’ 6-1 win over Egypt on Tuesday.
The midfielder sustained the injury just two days before he was supposed to have joined the Black Stars to prepare for the Egypt match.
The timing of the injury prompted fears that he had faked the setback to avoid the tough match while preserving his hopes of playing at the 2014 World Cup which guarantees huge publicity.
Boateng has been accused of picking and choosing which matches he wants to play for Ghana and avoids tough qualifying matches in Africa.
But the midfielder has genuine knee problems which have seen him undergo surgeries for about SIX TIMES on the troublesome left knee.
The Schalke midfielder suffered a knee injury while playing for the German club during a league match two weeks ago.
Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah was hoping further tests on the left knee problem could clear Boateng to play for Ghana in the match.
But the tests in Germany revealed that Boateng must undergo treatment for the injury which meant he will not be available for the match against Egypt.

American manager Bob Bradley will retain his post with the Egyptian national team despite the humiliating defeat at Kumasi, Bradley’s assistant and keepers’ coach Zaki Abdel-Fattah told Reuters Sunday.
“Bradley is committed to the team and will not flee from his duties after the heavy defeat,” Abdel-Fattah was quoted as saying.
The Pharaohs, who are bidding for their first qualification ticket to the World Cup since 1990, were handed a 6-1 defeat Tuesday by Ghana in the first leg of the African playoff.
The humiliating result triggered intense deliberation around the 56-year-old tactician inside the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), one month ahead of the decisive second leg scheduled for 19 November in Cairo.
“I am against sacking Bradley because it would cost Egypt three million Egyptian pounds as a buy-out clause,” Sports Minister Taher Abu Zeid said in a television interview Saturday night.
According to his assistant, the former US coach met his players after the defeat and demanded of them to “get a better image in the second leg.”
The holders of seven African Cups of Nations have gained the full mark in the qualifiers winning a maximum 16 points to lead group G.
“The team won three times home and another three away, but the Ghana match missed the technical managing,” the minister added.
The 6-1 defeat attracted strong popular and media attention in Egypt during the Eid Al-Adha holidays, while the country remains in turmoil since the 3 July military ouster of president Mohamed Morsi amid mass protest against his one-year rule.
Next month’s game is also important in terms of security, as the North African country has already cancelled two successive premier leagues due to fan-related issues and banned fans from attending continental competition games.

evin-Prince Boateng's rehabilitation goes full circle to face Chelsea

Kevin-Prince Boateng was clearly riled. He had clashed with Michael Ballack a few moments before and they had exchanged words. Then, in the 35th minute of the 2010 FA Cup final between Portsmouth and Chelsea
, the Pompey midfielder ran 15 yards and clattered into Ballack from behind. The Germany captain was left on the floor, unable to continue, his World Cup dreams for ever in tatters. He never played for Germany again. The outrage back home was heartfelt and in that moment it was completely unthinkable that Boateng would, three years later, be welcomed back to the country of his birth as the signing of the summer. But that is what happened.
Schalke, who are playing Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday night, announced on 30 August that they had signed the 26-year-old Ghana international from Milan for €12m (£10.1m). No one had seen that transfer coming. Six years since leaving Hertha Berlin under a cloud – the German papers had nicknamed him “RAMBOateng” and “Ghetto-kid” – he had returned a world-famous footballer. He once told the German football magazine 11Freunde that he wanted to be “more than just a footballer” and during his time at Milan he became just that.
To focus only on the moment, last January, when he had had enough of the racist abuse he was subjected to during a friendly, would be unfair because he has developed into a marvellous footballer. However, it was his stand against racism that suddenly catapulted him into the world spotlight.
His Milan team-mates followed him off the pitch and his actions caused a huge debate in Italy. The Italian league introduced new, tougher sanctions on racism, on and off the pitch, and in August a fifth-division player was suspended for 10 games after racially abusing an opponent. That was two more matches than Luis Suárez and six more than John Terry.
His profile soared and Nike ran an advert with the slogan: “I would do it again. And again. And again”. Boateng, two months later, told CNN: “I am sad and angry that I’m the one that has had to take action. I saw massive support from England and players such as Rio Ferdinand and Patrick Vieira, and I want to say thank you. I think we should not accept and tolerate it anywhere, in any game. Even if it’s a World Cup final, if it’s a Champions League final. For me, honestly, I would do it even in the Champions League final.”

There have been other headlines, too. After Milan won the scudetto in 2011 he dressed as Michael Jackson and performed a moonwalk – pretty well, it has to be said. Since that moment, his team-mates referred to him as the “pop star”. Then there was the time when his girlfriend, Melissa Satta, told the Italian press how often they had sex every week and some papers linked that to the many muscle injures he had that season.
But Boateng is first and foremost a footballer and will be key to Schalke’s hopes of progressing in the Champions League. He has struggled with a knee injury recently but Schalke, who are three points ahead of Chelsea at the top of Group E, are confident their No10 will play on Tuesday.
That Boateng got as far as playing even one Champions League match is a tremendous achievement. He grew up in Berlin’s Wedding district and played with his two brothers – Jérôme, who is now a Germany international playing for Bayern Munich, and George – on a concrete court nearby. “In Wedding you become a drug dealer, a gangster or a footballer,” he once said.
He joined Hertha Berlin as a seven-year-old and progressed through the youth teams before making his first-team debut as an 18-year-old in August 2005. Two years later, however, the cash-strapped club decided to sell him to Tottenham Hotspur for about £5.4m.
Immediately he was told by Martin Jol that he did not feature in the manager’s plans. It was a ploy to force Boateng to work harder but it backfired. He lost interest and started spending his money in bars and on expensive cars.
“I was just very unhappy,” he told 11Freunde. “Short-term I didn’t mind whether I was playing for the first team or for the reserves in front of three people, but after four weeks or so the car thing became boring and then all the everyday problems came back – with a vengeance.” He split up with his pregnant wife, Jenny, and was sent out on loan to Dortmund. There, he rediscovered his form and there is a lovely quote from Jürgen Klopp, saying that Boateng is such a good player because he always has “100 solutions and ideas” for a situation on the pitch.
Sadly for Boateng, though, Dortmund missed out on the Europa League and could not afford to buy him from Spurs. He joined Portsmouth first on loan and then permanently, where he prospered under Avram Grant and Paul Hart, with the latter telling him before he went out on the pitch: “Go out and play, young man and do what you want but please, please make sure you don’t get sent off.”
Boateng revelled with the freeness of his new role and the added responsibility. It was not, however, until he met the adviser Roger Wittmann that his career properly took off. Wittmann told him to get a personal trainer and in a few months he had lost 12 kilos.
Soon after that horrendous tackle on Ballack he joined Milan, where he quickly went from a decent player to become a really good one. Simultaneously, his off-pitch profile continued to grow. Finally, he had become “more than a footballer” and on Tuesday, injury permitting, he will aim to show the British public what became of the player who failed to make it at Tottenham and was relegated with Portsmouth.

HOW ATTRACTIVE IS OUR LEAGUE

Our local league which is the Ghana Premier league has remained one of the most exciting if not the best event so far as football in the country is consend.Although there are several other organized football event such as the FA cup,SWAG CUP as well as the president cup,but the premier league has to me will always remain the most exciting football event on the Ghanaian soccer calander. To most Ghanaian soccer loing fans, the premier league is usually what keep them company especially when the seior national team the black stars are not in action. The Premier league as we now has furthermore produced a very larg e number of talents for our various ational teams, thus the black stars, black meteos, black starlets and the black satellites. This has furthermore contributed to the success of these various nationa teams in the last decades.Just to draw our inds back  a little bit,the 1991 an 1995 squad that won fifa under 17 world cup mainly consisted of locally based players who played in our local league.
To hit the nill on the head,i will say our local league is fast away drowning in cold waters as it has ost it attractive nature that it used to have way back.It almost seems the Ghna premier league is not being followed by the soccer loving public as t used to be.Gone are the days when you will always see soccer loving fans troop to the stadias to watch their various teams play.I remember the atmosphere in the country whenever the titanic clash between the two most glamous clubs in Ghana is about to take place. You will always see fans fans of both clubs flags and paraphilanias of their respective clubs alon the road side, with cars decorated with flags. It really saddens my heart i no longer see all these nowadays.
Not to compare our league to that pf the foreign leagues, but i keep o asking myself this question. Why is it that most socer loving fans turn to remain glued to their tv sets to watch games in the EPL,Spanish laliga,Italian seriaA etc?especially on sunday afternoons when the ca make their way to the various stadi's in the country to watch the local league. One will rather prefer to watch a matc between Stoke City and Fulham than to go to the stadium to watch a game between Amidaus and Liberty proff. Is our league lacking talents?all these questions ring in my ears whenever i sit to think about what really is wrong.
All these i think is lack of publicity on our league. The rate at which our league is publicized is vey low that even our league is not well recognised across the globe. This is where the influence of our media counts.Ghana has a huge reputatio in football and for our league to be ranked 11th in africa and 65th in the world i think does not speak really well about Ghana football. It is very unfortunate that after 5 league games we still dont have a title sponsor for this years league. Thanks to supersports for accepting to take the rights to cover some of the league games.this i think will help sell our league better.
       God Save Ghana football.

KWASI APPIAH.THE MAN OF THE MOMENT

I will term it as the massacca at kumasi. It was all joy across the lengtH and breath of the country on the 15th of October 2013 when the black stars of Ghana made every Ghanaian across the world very proud as they white washed their Egyptian counterparts 6goals to 1 in the first league qualifying play offs at the Baba Yara sports stadium. And to me this enfatic win has buried and covered all the controverses about the issue of winning bonuses and a whole lot.Goals from captain Asamoah Gyan,Sulley Muntari,Majid Waris and Christian Atsu saw the black stars made yet another history in Ghana football. This enfatic win over the Egyptians has set the way for the stars to make it to a third successive world cup,as the crucial win has made the 2nd league a mere formality.
Thanks to one man.Mr James Akwasi Appiah, the head coach of the black stars whom i will give all the credit.Ghana have been to the world cup on two occassions, both under expatraites coaches. But the calm, respectful and generous man is almost set to make history as the first Ghanaian to qualify the stars to the mundial.Kwasi Appiah whom for sometime now have faced  a lot of critis about his calm nature as well as inviting many different players in different games most especially the recallof 35year old goalkeeper Richard Kingson. But the 52year old former player proved his critis wrong when he demolished Egypt on tuesday.I will continue to shower praise on the former national star especially with the way and manner he has managed the team so far with his tactics. The blackstars for some time now have played what is usually know as the one top under the expatraites coaches, which one will bare with me has not really helped the stars interm of goal scoring. One will say the one goal project always work for the stars.Ever since Kwasi Appiah came,he has adapted the 4-4-2 formation of which have pefectly worked for the stars. No wonder the stars were the top scoring team in the qualifiers with 18goals,and was able to score 6 past the Egyptians. The partnership of captain Asamoah Gyan and youngstar Majid Waris has really worked up to perfection as this twom have managed to get 9goals so far.Which is very impressive.
One may ask the last time the stars were able to score 6 past an opponent.Cant really remember though but it has been done by Kwasi Appiah. And "Mayele" and his charges are on the verge of making it to a third successive world cup apearance.

USE EX STARS TO MARKET GHANA!

Sports remain one of Ghana's key marketing tools for many years and has helped put the name of the country firmly on the international map.Almost every discpline has produced great names which ring a bell each time they are mentioned.Osei Kofi,Abedi Ayew Pele,Anthony Yeboah are names that are still fresh in world football. As DK Poison,Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey in Boxing.
We cannot forget track and field atheletes such as Rose Heart,Mike Ahey,Leo Miles Mills,Eric Nkansah,Aziz Zakari,Vida Anim and Margret Simpson in atheletics. There are lot more especially in lawn tennis, hockey, table tennis and swimming.
Unfortunately,Ghana as a country has failed to properly use these great names most of whom are still alive to market the country and to rebrand it to her advantage. It is amazing that at the last two fifa world cups for instance,we failed as a country to use some of our influencial ex players to help in the publicising aspect of the game. The motif behind this article is to prompt authorities who may have played down on the importance of using ex national stars to begin to rethink.
One african country which is using her ex national players either in football or in track and field is cameroon.Travel to any competition and you will see them around their players giving them pep talks. In our case ex national stars are seen as outcast and unwanted. They are branded by officials as people who only want to benefit from the team instead of using them to the advantage of the country.God save us.

Maxwell Konadu reveals local players.

Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu has revealed local players will be talked out of making foreign moves at least until the end of the CHAN tournament.
The home-based Black Stars team will be competing in next year’s edition to be staged in South Africa.
The team has been hit consistently by the exodus of players to foreign clubs since the competition rules only allows for players plying their trade in their native domestic leagues.
But coach Maxwell Konadu fears this prospect could wreck his plans towards the tournament especially with the European transfer window re-opening in January – weeks ahead of the tournament’s commencement.
As a result, for former Asante Kotoko coach says officials will engage prospective players of the team to delay their moves abroad until after the tournament.
“The player that wants to leave, I think we will be talking them so that at least they finish the tournament before they go,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“That will help us a lot. You know that some few players left and the team was struggling.
“But I think now some strikers are also doing well in the local scene so we will try to bring them to the level that will be ok for the tournament.
“Even though we know that you may get a very good or wonderful player but may not function like the ones you had before but in their own rights they may also be good in so many ways.
“So we will see what will happens. When we go to camp we will try and help them do very well.”

Jonathan Mensa has stepped up on his rehabilitation from injury to hand Ghana a massive boost ahead of next month’s return encounter in the World Cup playoffs against Egypt.
The 23-year-old missed the first leg clash after suffering an injury on the weekend to the lead up to the game in Kumasi while with his French club Evian TG.
The central defender is expected to be out for six weeks with a thigh problem.
The Ghana international has however made tremendous progress in his recovery and has already started working with the ball.
This has increased hopes of Mensah’s return for the return leg of the World Cup playoffs next month at a yet to be confirmed venue.
The Black Stars are taking a commanding 6-1 lead into the second leg match after making mincemeat of the Pharaohs last Tuesday.

His return will be a major boost to the Ghana defence which currently stands depleted over injuries to key players.
