It was cagy encounter at the Accra Sports stadium this afternoon as Hearts of Oak and Kumasi King Faisal shared points in the week 10  of the Ghana Premier league. As usual, the stadium wasnt as packed as one expected ,but the few supportors that troup to the stadium withness one of the most exiting football this season.
Hearts of Oak who were the home side went into the game very strong hoping to get a win after their lost to Ashanti Gold last week,at least to keep the chase on bitter rivals Asante Kotoko who won against Liberty 1-0 yesturday.King Faisal on the other hand came into the game as the under dogs as they had only managed 2 wins out of the 9 matches they have played so far. After all the controverses souranding striker Gilbert Fiamenyo this whole week over Tribal comment made to Referee Yaw Ametepe, coach Duncan started the bulky striker up front with supports from joint top scorer Emmanuel Hayford and Romeo Abban.Meanwhile head coach of King Faisal Carlos Poulletta also started with youngstar Sulley Mohammed and Abdul Wahab up front.
It was King Faisal who drew first blood as early as the 7th min when striker Sulley Mohammed blasted in a low shot from outside of his boots into the left bottom corner of goal keeper Philimon McCarthy after a counter attack break from King Faisal of which Hearts midfielder Emmanuel Hayford had earlier on hit the cross bar with a free kick. After conceding the goal Hearts came in very strong as they pour more men forward in search of the equalizer. They finally had the equalizer in the 43rd min when Remeo Abban volleyed in  a low shot to the left corner of the post.
Hearts who were willing to keep the chase on Kotoko came into the 2nd half very strong as they continued where they started from in the 1st half piling on more pressure in search of the winner.Head coach David Duncan quickly made a change and brought in youngstar Gabrial Darko to boost the attack but the hard working and compact defence of King Faisal would not allow Hearts of Oak to break through.Midfielder Emmanuel Hayford blasted in many shot on goal but failed to get them on target.Heart nearly got the winner in the 74th min when Emmanuel Hayford forced the King Faisal goalkeeper to pull out a great save with a tandurous strike in front of goal.It seemed a draw will be enough for King Faisal as they easily fell off anytime there was a contact.
