REVIEW:WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS.AFRICAN ZONE

All is said and done as the 2014 World cup plays offs in the African Zone came to an end yesturday with Algeria ensuring that the West African party could not come on as they eliminated Burkina Faso.Four of the West African team s were able to book their place at the mundial next year with Algeria being the only North African country to make it.

On Saturday,Nigeria ensured they sealed qualification when they beat Ethiopia by 2-0.A penalty kick from Victor Moses and a spectacular free kick from Obinna Nsorfor saw Nigeria make it to their 5th World cup appearance on a 4-1 aggregate score.

In Morocco,Senegal who were playing away from home did everything possible to overcome a 3-1 deficit toil very hard but could only share spoils with the Ivory Cost when the game ended 1-1.A spot kick from Moussa Sow was concelled by a late Solomon Kalou's goal.Ivory coast make it to a third successive world cup.

Elsewhere in Cameroon,Samuel Etoo lead the Indomitable Lions to another world cup appearance as they beat Tunisia by 4-1 in Luando.They first league had ended 0-0.Two goals from Jean Makoun and a goal each from Achille Webo and Mokandjo ensured Cameroon to yet another World cup appearance.

Egypt could only do little as they could not overcome the 6-1 lost to Ghana in the first league.The Pharoes however managed a 2-1 win over the black stars but was not enough to enable them make it to their first world cup apperance since 1990.Goals from Amr Zaki and Mohammed Nagy Gedo with KP bOATENG GETING A CONSOLATION for Ghana was Ghana qualifying on a 7-3 AGGREGATE.

Algeria ensured they did not allow the west african party as they beat Burkina 1-0 to qualify on the away goal rule.
