The 22-year-old sealed his loan move from French giants Marseille on Thursday and has been assured of more playing time.
The Ghana international had been in talks with several clubs over a loan move until the end of the season for over a month but finally settled on the fellow Ligue 1 outfit
.
The move will reunite him with coach Herve Renard who is known to the Ghanaian as the French manager was part of Ghana’s technical team in 2008 under coach Claude Leroy.
The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele is happy to be making his long-awaited move as it will now give him the opportunity to play week-in-week-out – something he found very difficult to manage at Marseille.
“I think is a good move for me personally. We discussed about this loan move for more than a month, even with other clubs, and I am glad we have been able to come through with this,” Jordan Ayew said.
“Normally if you are not getting enough playing time it is appropriate that you look elsewhere, and I have been assured that I will get more playing time at Sochaux and that is the main reason why I opted for them.
“It is always difficult when you are moving to a different club but I have been assured that everything will be ok for me – I can’t wait to start playing for the team and the fans.”
Jordan is following in the footsteps of his brother Andre, who also profited from similar loan spells before becoming an integral part of the current Marseille side.
This also means the Ghanaian will always in the limelight of action to solicit the attention of Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah who has began the process of assembling his team for the World Cup in June.
