Speaking
with Sena Radio, an Accra based radio station, the Ashanti Gold trainer said
his lads are really poised and prepared
very hard to meet their Equatoguinean counterparts in the final qualifier. He
went on to say their target for now is to qualify to the World Cup.
“
Yea we have been in camp for the past two months and we are preparing very
hard. We have been able to play a couple of friendly matches to test our self.
We know the task ahead of us and so we are preparing really well. Our target
for now is to qualify for the World Cup and then we take it from there”. The
former Asante Kotoko and Medeama Coach told Sena radio.
Ghana
will need to edge past Equatorial
Guinea to confirm their place in the final round of qualifying
for next year’s U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
The
Black Princesses are chasing one of the two spots at the World Cup up for grabs
from the African qualifiers as Nigeria and South Africa also compete for a place.
Before
reaching the penultimate qualifying round, Guinea-Bissau who were also
scheduled to play Ghana in the first
round pulled out of the qualifiers.
A
win in both leagues will see the Princesses make it to a third successive World Cup appearance after
previous participations in Germany and Japan in 2010 and 2012
respectively.
