Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Darra has lamented on the 23 man squad of
the of Local Black Stars for the Championship of African nations (CHAN)
tournament in South Africa which kick starts on the 11th January 2014, saying
he thinks the squad is a very formidable squad that can really make a
difference at the tournament, but despite it quality thinks it cannot be
compared to the Black Stars team itself which is made up of both Foreign and
Local players but still believes Maxwell Konadu have chosen the best players to represent
Ghana at the tournament given the circumstances and options we have to use only
home based players
A list of 23 players was released by head Coach Maxwell
Konadu on Wednesday 1st January and Sannie believes can has assembled the best
squad ahead of the tourment.
The CHAN is a tournament organized by the
Confederation Of African Football (CAF) for locally based players on the
continent.
tournament which will be represented by 16 African nations will kick
start from the 11th January and will end on the 1st of February this year.
Ghana were loosing finalist at the maiden edition in 2009 at the Ivory Coast
after loosing 2-0 to DR Congo.
