ALLOWEY URGES SPORTS MINISTER TO HELP DEVELOP AMATEUR BOXING

Trainer for Former IBF Welterweight Champion Joshua Clottey ,Godwin Nii Kortey Dzani aka” Allowey” has urged the Sports Minister Hon.Elvis Afriyie Ankrah to put in place measures in other to fulfill his assurance to the Ghana Boxing Authority to invest in the development of Amateur boxing in the country.

Speaking with Live fm.An Accra based radio station,”Allowey “ said “Before he was even appointed and endorsed, I heard that he said he was boxing bias but I have not seen anything because I think if you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk. It’s not about talking and making mere promises”.

“If you want to build a very strong house, then I think the base has to be very strong and I don’t think the government is putting enough resources into amateur boxing so that we can have a very good foundation and churn out very good professional boxers and then we will be in the state to go for glories,” Alloway added.

The Hon.minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah assured some selected boxing communities in the country of providing them with basic infrucstractures and Gymnasium when he was elected into office in February this year.
