GHANAIAN PLAYERS ABROAD

RECAP OF GHANAIAN PLAYERS PERFORMANCE IN VARIOUS LEAGUES OVER THE WEEKEND

With most of the Leagues Going for the Christmas break,Sports Lounge brings you the performance of Ghanaian players in various Leagues across the World.

ENGLAND
Micheal Essien received a big Christmas present by his Coach Mourinho as he was handed 90 min of play in Chelsea's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the Stamford Bridge.It was only the 31 year old 2nd appearance in the league this season.The midfielder played the entire game and gave a good account of himself.Derrick Boateng is still not having a good time at Fulham as he was exempted from the Fulham squad that lost 4-1 to Everton at Goddison park.In the Championship,Albert Adomah played 90 min for Middlesbrough when they lost 1-0 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.Still in the Championship,Jeffery Schulpp came on to play the last 7 min for Leicester City when they drew 1-1 at home with Barnley.

FRANCE
Jordan Ayew started the game for Olympic Marsille and lasted 56 min as  Marsille drew 2-2 away with Olympic Lyon.The 22 year old could not find the back the net.Black Stars defender,Jonathan Mensah scored his first league goals this season with a stunning volley in the 73rd min as Evion Thonon Gillad drew 1-1 at home with Stade Reims.The former under 20 defender played the entire game for Evion.Despie starting training,John Boye could not make the Rennes team that drew at home.In the French liga 2 former under 17 and under 20 forward Kwame Nsor could only manage 45min as his side Metz lost 4-2 to Tours

HOLLAND
Shadrack Eghan played 65 min for Twente Enshede when they beat Go Ahead Eagles 3-1 at home.In other games. former FC porto now Chelsea loanee Christian Atsu had a wonderful game when he helped Vitessi with a 3-2 win at home over NAC Breda.The 21 year old lasted  the entire duration of the game.Dutch born Ghanaian,Jeffery Sarpong also featured for NAC. Kwame Quansah watched from the bench when Heracles Almelo beat AZ Alkmaar 2-0.Fellow Ghanaian team mate Mathew Amoah could not make the Haracles team as he sat out through injury.Fred Benson tasted full action for PEC Zwolle who lost 2-1 to Hereveen

GERMANY
In the German Bundesliga,Kelvin Prince Boateng Captained Schalke O4 who beat Freiburg 2-0 at the Veltins Arena.The Ghanaian international lasted the whole game as the Royal Blues went away with all 3 points.In the Bundesliga II,both Marcel Appiah and Abdul Baba Rahman were in action for Armenia Bielefield and Spvgg Gruether Furth respectively,but the later came on in the 2nd half to feature for Gruether Furth.The game however ended 4-1 in favor of Belefield. Still in the German budesliga II,Charles Takyi came on in the 68th min but could do little to help Energie Cottbus avoid defeat to Fortuna Dusseldorf

ITALY
In the Italian Seria A,Isaac Cofie was an unused substitute when Genoa drew 1-1 at home with Atlanta.Hard working Emmanuel Agyemang Badu only managed Udinese's bench as his side lost 0-2 at home to Torino. Inter Milan Loanee Alfred Duncan played one of his best games for Livorno but could not help them avoid defeat at Lazio as they lost 2-0.The former under 20 midfielder was booked in the 74th min and lasted the full 90 min for Livorno.After a painful Champions League exit, Kwadwo Asamoah helped Juventus to an emphatic win as they beat Sassoulo 4-0 at home.The midfielder as usual played full time for Juve. Youngstar  Rahman Chibsah came on in the 71st min to feature for Sassoulo.Afriyie Acquah played 90 min for Parma when they drew 0-0 with Cagliari.AC Milan loanee Kingley Boateng did not get any minutes of time when Catania drew 0-0 with Hellas Verona.

PORTUGAL
Former Liberty and under 20 left back David Nii Addy did not play for Vitoria Guimereas when they won 2-0 away at Arouca.The full back watch from the bench

UAE
in the Pro League,black stars captain Asamoah Gyan could not stop scoring as he once again bagged in a brace for Al Ain when they beat Al Shaab 5-2.Gyan extend his goal tally to 14 goals this season.Al Ain now lie at the 4th position hoping to defend the title they won last season.Emmanuel Clottey did not play for Al Dhafra when they lost to Dubai Fc.

SPAIN
Richmond Boakye Yiadom did not have his day as he was substituted in the 78th min when Elche lost 2-1 to Levante.

BELGIUM
Both Daniel Opare and Bernard Kumordzi were in action for Standard Liege and Genk  respectively with the former playing full throttle of the game but the later was substituted in the 68th min.Standard Liege won the game 3-1

TURKEY
Jerry Akaminko was a rock at the back for Ekirshirspor when they drew 1-1 at home with Kayserispor.The Ghana defender played full 90 min.
