CHRISTOHER OPOKU ON INACTIVE BLACK STARS PLAYERS
The Ghana League Clubs Administrative (GHALCA)
manager,Chrstopher Opoku has opposed
Kwasi Appiah’s decision to include inactive players to his World Cup squad, stating
that Ghana will only need active and fit players at next year’s mundial in
Brazil.
“At the first World Cup, we got to the second round and
during the second World Cup, we got to the quarter-finals. We cannot
retrogress. We need to go further than that and the only way we can do that, is
to get 23 fully fit and in-form players in the squad. We need to have players
competing and the only way we can do that is by picking players who are playing
actively,” Mr. Opoku told CampioneSports.net.
Ghana qualified to the world cup at the expense of Egypt and
are drawn in group G with heavy weights USA,Germany and Portugal.
