FA BOSS NYANTEKYI CONFIDENT OF SECURITY IN BRAZIL

KWASI NYANTEKYI CONFIDENT OF SECURITY IN BRAZIL

Ghana FA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is confident that tourists, who visit Brazil during next year’s World Cup, will be safe, despite the alarming level of crime rate in the South American country.

“This kind of reports is very well known to FIFA. If FIFA had relied on such information, South Africa would not have even hosted the World Cup. These are destructive, negative propaganda and they have no effect on the organization of the World Cup. It’s almost insignificant because security during the World Cup is beefed up,” Mr. Nyantakyi told CampioneSports.net.

Crimes statistics for 2012 and 2013 reflect continued critically high and rising levels of crimes in Brazil in the categories of robbery, rape, fraud, and residential thefts, with the homicide rate experiencing a continuous drop.

FIFA and Brazil are yet to reveal security plans for next year’s World Cup.
